Happy 4th, or what exactly does Independence Day mean in 2007?

Well I wont get all sappy but what exactly does Independence Day mean in 2007? As the world becomes more global I think there should have a global day. A day of no fighting, a day of peace. Now wouldn’t that be so nice.

Well I must say this, Crayola Monologues  is amazing. I love how American social issues can be encapsulated into the story of crayons. It is so true though, especially the issues with Native Americans. Native Americans still have the highest rates of alcoholism, suicide and teen pregnancy. This problem is hardly talked about and most dont even know it happens in 2007.

I think I may start a monthly donation fund, every month I will have a jewelry item of a month (make several, sorry I know kinda kills the whole original thing but hey they will be limited) and donate 15% of total sales to charity. So people start sending me your favorite charities, I think I may start with a group called Ten, they are a great group that helps people that use to be in human trafficking aka: slaves. They teach them crafts and help them sell them, isn’t that nice. I would like to start a program like that for people in extremely improvised areas of eastern europe.

As far as Lefthand Originals news goes, gearing up for three awesome shows here soon, Phelps Mill, Highland Fest and Alexandria Art fair, they should be good and I have been making tons of jewelry for them. I have been making these funky little things in part of my news series called Carmen Miranda meets her match. They are for sale on Etsy right now but they will be coming with me for the shows.
